Time does fly!

Benjamin Franklin shared with the world the secret of his success, ‘Never leave that till tomorrow, he said, which you can do today’. This is the man who discovered electricity; you think more people would listen to what he had to say. I don't know why we put things off, she said it’s because of fear, I say it’s because we drift, we lose our focus. In her words ‘Fear of failure, fear of rejection, sometimes the fear is just of making a decision, because what if you're wrong? What if you're making a mistake you can't undo?’In my words ‘there’s a lot you want to do, it’s just that there’s no time to do it all, effective time utilization is something we have to learn, obviously procrastination comes in too’.

The early bird catches the worm. A stitch in time saves nine. We've all heard the proverbs, warning us about wasted time, and heard the damn poets urging us to seize the day. Still sometimes we have to see for ourselves, we have to make our own mistakes. We have to sweep today's possibility under tomorrow's rug until we can't anymore. Until we finally understand for ourselves what Benjamin Franklin really meant. That knowing is better than wondering, that waking is better than sleeping, and even the biggest failure, even the worst, beats the hell out of never trying.

P.S: She in the above is Meredith from Grey’s, some of the thoughts in her voice overs are so good, couldn’t help picking up some lines and modifying for this post!

It's one of those weekends, when I feel like I did nothing useful and wonder where did all those hours go?, I’m sitting in front of the TV with my laptop, watching the Brazil/Aus match. Have you ever felt that 24 hours in a day is way too little especially on weekends, go to sleep at 1:30 AM and get up at 8:00 AM and still there’s no time.

Finally!, got to watch football yesterday, thanks to ABC, a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Harris county and true to the weather channel, it rained and thundered, it got so dark, made me want to go back to sleep, as usual was checking the TV schedule when I came across abc’s, so got to watching Czech vs Ghana, heard Czech is one of the stronger teams in the competition, but they hardly played like it, if not for their goal keeper, I think the score would have read something like 5-0. The commentators seemed overly excited with Ghana’s victory; I didn’t seem to understand why, until I got to know the impact of the result on the next match that was coming up, USA vs Italy, when there are two teams playing I always root for one, even though I really don't have a particular favorite and in this case, was rooting for Italy, if not for the self-goal they would have won! Again the commentary was totally one-sided, but to be expected.

Way too many red-cards and yellow cards in the games, even today, Rolando too, I personally think he is an over-rated player, maybe not as much as David Beckham, but he is. I know he’s got the stats to prove that he’s a great player, its half-time now score still reads 0-0 and they are discussing ‘USA-win or go home’, I don’t want to know, so taking a break to complete this post. Kinda feel guilty that I was watching this match when I should have been in church, will find a way, soon I hope for my sake!

Yesterday we went shopping to Kohl’s and then fiesta, malls is one place where the time just flies, I can spend hours together, reminded me of the days in Plano, week after week, but I guess I can never get tired of shopping, got back home around 10, had dinner around 11 and then the internet, this is another place where the time just flies, the blogs, the scraps, the news, the stories, the deals, the reviews, it's all about keeping up, this is life!

Forget the To-do’s lists that that never seem to have an entry marked ‘done’ week after week, only new additions, from 43 things to do to 86 things that must really be done. Procrastination at it's best, angels and demons lying there, bookmarked, since the Dallas to Houston flight!, when did I become like this, I love reading, some day in the near future I’m gonna open the list on a Friday and start completing each of those tasks, right on top will be ‘Finish reading angels and demons', good luck to me on that … back to the match and to find something else to do on this Sunday other than from the list.

Well.. all I can say is "Welcome to life outside Home" ;)
Time started flying while I was at MIT.. hasn't stopped yet! I remember I had 6 posters that I wanted to display inside my room... 4 years, 5 rooms later, the posters are still new ;)
Guess I can take this opportunity to excuse myself for not talking frequently enough with old pals ;)
As far as the To-Do list goes, at the end of the day, mine's not worth the paper its written on!

Yep it does. You never seem to get time to do all the things you really wanna do.

Everyday I come to office, open outlook and postpone the tasks I set for today to tomorrow. (sigh) Procrastination... what a love-hate relationship I have with it...
